Once trimmed, the first fabric should look like this. Continue
on to run the placement stitch for the first piece of folded
fabric, which will be near the bottom of the block to create
the ground.

Take a strip of fabric and place it right side facing down,
aligning the bottom raw edge of the strip with the bottom
edge of the tacked down fabric. NOTE: You will want a
large enough strip to have a 1⁄2” seam allowance once
folded over!
Run the folding stitch for the strip.
Use scissors to trim away the excess fabric from the top of
the tacking stitch box, leaving the remaining excess fabric as
seam allowance.
