My Clearwater
Florida understand the need to conserve the endangered
habitat.
In addition to showcasing unparalleled views deep
within the Everglades, this exhibit allows guests
the opportunity to learn about this unique Florida
ecosystem and the importance of water conservation
while seeing the stunning large-format photography. The
exhibit coincides with an important milestone next year
for Everglades National Park, which will celebrate its
75th anniversary in late 2022.
In November, Butcher came to the launch of the exhibit
and said the display in the library is museum-quality.
He recalled losing his son in a car accident caused by
a drunken driver being the catalyst for going to the
Everglades to cope with the devastation. He dedicated
his life not only to capturing his iconic art, but also
spreading the word of environmental conservation.
“I went to the Everglades and it restored my soul,” he
said.
He envisions school field trips winding through the
exhibit and hopes to inspire younger generations to
conserve Florida’s environment.
"It is my hope that the vision I give to you of the
Everglades will inspire you to love and protect it for
generations to come,” Butcher said.
