Ruth Eckerd Hall School Time
Attorney Alan Gassman and his wife Marcia
helped kick-start the fund to provide free
field trips to Ruth Eckerd Hall’s School Time
performances for 15,000 Tampa Bay area
students.
Infinity Fashion Show
Ruth Eckerd Hall President and
CEO Zev Buffman believes that
providing arts and education to
our community is essential, but was
frustrated that local students could not
afford the minimal funds that were
needed to attend. However, with the
help of Alan Gassman’s law firm, which
pledged $10,000 to be matched for
this purpose, the Hall was able to raise
over $50,000. These monies will allow
the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the
Arts at the Hall to invite school classes
from across the Tampa Bay area to
attend these educational performances,
providing children with the opportunity
to experience live theatre productions.

This year’s Mardi Gras Madness fashion show
was co-chaired by Awilda Harrington and Valerie
“Val” Rankin, Infinity’s second vice president.
JEFF O’KELLEY
Infinity, the league to aid abused
children and adults, held its spring
fashion show, “Mardi Gras Madness,”
at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
The funds raised help to support
Brookwood, CASA, and the Suncoast
Center. This group of concerned women
are making a difference in the lives of
so many. A Mardi Gras Mask Contest
was one of the event’s highlights with
prizes going to three categories. Megan
Simons, the owner of Pippa Pelure,
presented the fashion show.

A practicing physician in Maine,
Rich Entel brought a group of his
artistic creations to the Dunedin
Fine Art Center, with which his family
is so involved, for a six-week stay in
the Gamble Family Gallery. Rich’s
creations combine found cardboard
and broken musical instruments to
build unique and intricate sculptures
that capture the viewer’s imagination
with their power. The animals in this
menagerie are complex and evolving
three-dimensional images that alter
their appearance as you see them
from different angles.
