collection in 2001,
which has been
worn by Byoncé,
Evelyn Lauder,
and more recently
Eva Longoria.
chose some that have been shown before,
as well as many that he had packed away
for posterity. The majority had suffered
from the tolls of time, humidity and other
elements of nature. Together, it was a
telling show that captivated its audience,
as guests browsed through the exhibit. As
is the case in many fashion events, they
added their personal flair to the memories
that Michael displayed in his own unique
fashion. It was a show not to be missed. 9

Burnside has modeled many of Michael
Vollbracht’s creations over the years and
considers him to be one of fashion’s most
intriguing individuals. He is a kind, gentle
soul with an intellectual appreciation for the
world, which makes him one of her favorite
people.

This exquisitely embroidered and
beaded dress, created by Yves Saint
Laurant for the House of Dior in 1959,
was lovingly repaired by Michael for
the exhibit.
Michael accessorized this mid 1970s’
James Galanos silk velvet dress that is
trimmed in duchess satin with a James
Galanos fur coat.
