The most enjoyable way to travel to Monmouth County
from New York City is by ferry. A quick 40-minute trip with
spectacular views though New York Harbor and past
Sandy Hook’s beaches to New Jersey’s Bayshore is a
vacation in itself. Service from Wall Street and midtown
Manhattan to Atlantic Highlands and Highlands and
summer service to the beaches at Sandy Hook are
offered by Seastreak. New York Waterway docks at
the Belford Terminal, where passengers can board the
free Dock & Roll Shuttle Bus, which connects to the
Middletown train station and bus stops.
