Your pet just might be everyone’s favorite family
member, so why leave kitty or pup behind when you
take to the road for a fun getaway?
Stop by Yappy Hour at Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar,
where contented canines romp through a large fenced
outdoor area and two-legged family members enjoy
cocktails. The iconic bar with the grinning face of
Tillie, 1213 Ocean Avenue, is just off the boardwalk.
Weather permitting, Yappy Hour runs from 4 to 8 pm
on Thursdays and Fridays and 12 to 8 pm on Saturdays
and Sundays, with Mondays reserved for small dogs
only, 4 to 8 pm. Check out Wonder Bar Yappy Hour
on Facebook.
Bring the family to Thompson Park, a 667-acre
former horse farm in Middletown that includes a
playground, trails and an off-leash dog area, or
visit Wolf Hill Recreation Area in Oceanport, a four-
acre open area with two leash-free zones. Check
www.monmouthcountyparks.com for “petiquette.”
