Bordered by the scenic Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers that give the region its name, Monmouth
County’s Two River region is a cultural hub. The rivers, home to several parks and marinas, offer
a plethora of activities for residents: boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding or just enjoying
waterfront dining with a scenic sunset.
The towns of the Two River region each have their own specific feel and flavor. Easy access to NJ
TRANSIT and ferry lines makes these locations desirable for commuters, with gracious living, unique
downtown areas and excellent school systems. Oceanport is home to historic Monmouth Park
Racetrack.
Just south of Sandy Hook on a narrow strip of land between the Shrewsbury River and the Atlantic
Ocean, you’ll find Sea Bright and Monmouth Beach. Sea Bright’s walkable downtown has everything
you need for a day at the beach, with unique clothing, hardware, gift shops and abundant culinary
possibilities. Sea Bright’s new Beach Pavilion is home to the town’s Library and Cultural Arts Center
and features upper decks that overlook the ocean. Monmouth Beach’s quaint downtown and quiet,
secluded beaches offer restful respite from hustle and bustle.
Red Bank is a center for the arts and entertainment. Home to the Count Basie Center for the Arts and
the Two River Theater, Red Bank boasts film festivals, a taste-tempting collection of restaurants and
eateries, and a vital downtown shopping district ranging from national names like Tiffany & Co. and
Urban Outfitters to galleries and trendy boutiques such as Jay & Silent Bob’s Secret Stash.
