Mark Segel has become a vice
president and market manager for
the South Tampa Branch of NorthStar
Bank. Mark was the executive director
of the Jewish Federation of Pinellas
and Pasco Counties. He is a graduate
of the University of Florida, who
attended the Graduate School of
Banking at Louisiana State University.
Steven Mezer has joined the law
firm of Becker and Poliakoff. Steve
serves as counsel to community
associations and is board certified
by the Florida Bar in Real Estate Law.
Andy Schlauch, the executive
director of the Chihuly Collection
in St. Petersburg, celebrated the
Collection’s fifth anniversary, as
it continues to operate under the
Morean Arts Center, whose roots
go back to 1917, when it was the Arts
Club of St. Petersburg.
Marlene Rose, the well known glass artist, will have a
grand opening on September 26th at her new gallery
at 411 Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater. The
gallery will exhibit her work exclusively.

Clayton Swartz, who

City, which has purchased
eight properties within the
5600 block of Park Boulevard, plus 21
parcels within the adjacent 5700 block.
Snooty, the manatee at Bradenton’s
South Florida Museum, turned 67
years old and was named by the
Guinness Book of World Records as the
“Oldest Manatee in Captivity.” Snooty
was born in Miami, then was moved
to Bradenton in 1949 for the town’s
Desoto Celebration. He first resided
there in a tank built for him in the
Chamber of Commerce Pier Building.
Craig Phillips, the president and
CEO of Client 1st Advisor has become
the chair of the board of directors of
the Clearwater Free Clinic, which
provides care for uninsured families
to help build a healthy community.
Randy Ciccarello has selected
Kevin Tucker, the former senior
curator of decorative art and design
at the Dallas Museum of Art, as the
director of his planned $70 million
Museum of the American Arts and Crafts
Movement in St. Petersburg. The new
museum is being built on Fourth Avenue
North to exhibit Ciccarello’s collection.
Bob Rasmussen, chairman of the board
of trustees of the Lowry Park Zoological
Society, announced that Joseph Couceiro
has been chosen as the Zoo’s new chief
executive officer. Couceiro was the vice
president of marketing at the Chicago
Zoological Society. He also has a longtime
connection to Tampa Bay through the Busch
Entertainment Corporation. Lawrence
Killmar was promoted to chief zoological
officer, vice president and zoo director.
Fred Fisher, the founder of Clearwater’s
Tim Jarrett, general manager of Tampa’s Centre Club on Westshore Boulevard,
says that the Club’s “Reinvention” through $1.8 million in renovations is
almost complete and ready for members to connect, host, work and play. The
Club will have an expanded calendar of relevant and engaging events, and
there will also be a new membership offering to be called “ONE.”
