REAL ESTATE
As a member of one of Dunedin’s
founding families, Ben was the
grandson of L.B. Skinner, who came
to Dunedin in 1883, where he was
a pioneer in the citrus industry and
became Dunedin’s second mayor in
1901. His son, B.C. Skinner, Ben’s father,
created the orange juice concentrate that
led to the building of a concentrate plant
in Dunedin during World War II. Ben
graduated with a chemical engineering
degree from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology and returned home in
1945 to join the family business. He
purchased this Dunedin property and
built his home, where he and his wife
Angela raised five children before she
died in 2004. Ben’s passing last year
at age 95 has resulted in this unique
property becoming available. It is the
epitome of Florida waterfront land with
its breathtaking sunset views.9
