Safety Harbor Mayor Joe Ayoub for hosting the 12th annual Taste of Safety Harbor that
benefits the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce.

John and Beth England will have
the new outdoor arrival plaza at
Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater
named for them in recognition of their
donation to the hall’s capital campaign.
The England Family Welcome Pavilion
and arrival plaza will greet patrons
and will have an outdoor stage for
performances by the hall’s students
and Florida Orchestra members. This is
only a small part of the transformation
that is occurring at the hall as it is being
re-imagined.
Frank Chivas, the head of the
Baystar Restaurant Group, was
inducted into the Hall of Honor of
the Pinellas Education Foundation in
recognition of his passion for helping
those in need through the foundation,
particularly children. His generosity
extends to the Chi Chi Rodriguez
Academy, Clearwater 4 Youth,
Clearwater Community Sailing Center,
Boys and Girls Club, UPARC and the
Clearwater Aquarium.
Jeff Klinkenberg has been named
the winner of the Florida Humanities
Council’s 2018 Florida Lifetime
Achievement Award for Writing.
Jeff wrote for the Tampa Bay Times for
nearly 40 years and has written six
books about the state’s history and
culture. He will be given this award at
the Florida Book Award luncheon to be
held in the Florida Governor’s Mansion
in Tallahassee. He also recently won
the 2018 Florida Folk Heritage Award.
Brian Aungst Sr. was honored at a retirement reception hosted by Frank Chivas at his
Marina Cantina on Clearwater Beach. Attorney and community activist Brian Aungst Jr.,
pictured, toasted his father for his 30 years of continuous loyal service to the community
through Vision Cable, Time Warner, Bright House and Charter Communications, where his
dad was director of government affairs.
