PURPOSE: Founded by Chris Renfrow, president and CEO,
CharityWorks finds imaginative, cost effective ways to generate
community support. Renfrow, a CPA and certified fraud examiner
with purchasing and contract management experience, has
demonstrated his ability to negotiate winning contracts that are
beneficial to nonprofits. This strategy has long been proven by
large corporations and government agencies.
HISTORY: Since 1996, CharityWorks Inc. has provided free purchasing and management services to
qualified nonprofits and schools. Its services create value and generate efficiencies between philanthropy
and business. Each program incorporates a cooperative purchasing initiative and emphasizes values of
stewardship and integrity in supporting charitable, scientific and/or educational causes.
FACTS: CharityWorks’ mission is “Helping Those Who Help Others.“ It promotes a collaborative
process between the public and private sectors to work more effectively and efficiently in developing and

PURPOSE: The Clearwater Free Clinic is an invaluable
resource in the community for low-income, uninsured
families without private health insurance or the ability to
afford out-of-pocket costs for medical and mental health
services. The clinic provides a medical home, offering
preventative and acute care for the working poor so that
they can be productive members of society while avoiding
costly trips to the emergency room.
HISTORY: The Clearwater Free Clinic delivers comprehensive medical care to low-income, uninsured
families living in Pinellas County through volunteerism and community partnerships. A volunteerdriven,
nonprofit, non-government facility, the clinic provides vital health services to those who would
otherwise do without.
FACTS: The Clearwater Free Clinic is able to serve underserved families thanks to support from the
community. Its patients struggle to earn enough to afford basic necessities, like health care, but do
not qualify for government assistance. The clinic is furthering its mission to provide comprehensive
medical care to uninsured families by operating in a new larger, more accessible location that has the
capability to broaden its services and patient population.
