
become a mom you forget to take care of yourself first. If you
do, you can then take care of your family and children. Our programs,
our stroller-based programs especially, are for all the
moms. You can be at any level of fitness and any stage in motherhood
and it’s something that is inclusive of everyone. You
don’t have to be an athlete; you don’t have to be a runner; you
don’t have to be fit. You can just come and connect with other
women. It can be a phenomenal workout if you want it to be,
but it doesn’t have to be. That’s what’s really wonderful about a
fitness program like this.”
Stroller Strides instructor and mother of three Kim Krafft
started with the program as a client first, joining after seeing
moms doing the class. Apprehensive at first, Krafft emailed
Crowe with concerns about her infant daughter’s fussiness, and
Crowe’s response took away her hesitations.
“Suzanne said, ‘Of course she will, she’s a baby. That’s fine,’”
Krafft said. “She said, ‘We’ll make it work,’ and she was right.
My daughter did cry, and it was fine. No one looks at you; no
one rolls her eyes. Everyone was like, ‘You do what you gotta
do, Mom.’ So, some days I wore her; some days Suzanne would
come and rock the stroller back and forth; some days I’d have
to stop and nurse her and stop the workout. Everyone was so accepting
of the fact that that was my reality at that moment, and
there was no judgment. It was such a wonderful group of women
to be surrounded by that even if I was having a difficult day, it
was made better by being there.”
