MOMMY & ME
• Bring your baby from birth to six months to
the New Mommy Support Group to share and
learn in a friendly supportive atmosphere. Many
topics will be covered, including postpartum adjustment,
feeding, burping, sleeping, gas and colic, normal
newborn behavior, soothing fussy babies and
so much more. The support group meets at HackensackUMC
at Pascack Valley in Westwood on the
second Saturday and third Wednesday of every
month at 10 a.m.
HEALTHY EATS
• Abma’s Farm, 700 Lawlins Road, Wyckoff, is
presenting a Farm To Table Dinner. Enjoy an exclusive,
alfresco five-course dinner overlooking the
farm on the grounds of Mr. and Mrs. Abma’s home,
accompanied by a private wine tasting at the
Tomasello Winery Tasting Bar. All produce and
poultry are grown and raised sustainably. All other

• Bergen County’s only community celebration
of food and wine is coming to a tented area of
Garden State Plaza’s parking lot Sept. 15 and 16.
The Food & Wine Festival will be put on by, and
benefit, The 200 Club of Bergen County, with presenting
sponsor Inserra Supermarkets Inc. On Day
1 (Sept. 15), enjoy Burgers and Brews – a burger
competition between some of Bergen County’s
best chefs and restaurants, paired with great local
and craft beers, wines and spirits. On Day 2 (Sept.
16), enjoy the Tasting Village – a wide array of
Bergen County’s restaurants will showcase their
best dishes while you once again pair the cuisine
with great local and craft beers, wines and spirits

RUN A RACE
• Participate in the Interstate 17 Trail Run on
Aug. 26, beginning at 7 a.m. at the State Line Lookout
in Closter. Traversing beautiful viewpoints along
the Hudson River from New Jersey to New York
and back again, the Interstate 17 Trail Run is not
your average trail race. The race totals 17 miles with
approximately 6500 feet of elevation change. To

• Dumont’s annual 5K run will take place on
Sept. 1. The Dumont 5K is hosted by the Dumont
Community Group. The races starting point is located
at Dumont High School. A portion of the proceeds
will be donated to Dumont families in need
and in distress. The day will consist of a 5K; 1 ½-mile
run/walk; and a ½-mile kids spring. The course is flat
and fast with few hills. Strollers and baby joggers welcome

•The Park Ridge Rotary and Halfway Hounds
6th Annual 5K Run/Walk will take place on Sept.
16 at the Park Ridge Municipal Pool, 120 Colony
Ave., Park Ridge. The event starts at 9 a.m. with registration
at 10 a.m. and the run kicking off at 10:10
a.m. The course is a certified 5K on beautiful, somewhat
hilly local roads with a water station course.
Medals will be given to the first, second and third
place men and women in the following categories:
under 14; 15-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69;

• Don’t miss Your First Mud Run at Fair Lawn!
Your First Mud Run is the only mud run in the
country designed so both parents and kids can
run together. Our courses are 1 ½ to 2 miles and
include 10-16 obstacles that are designed for
adults and kids. Anyone 6 years old and up can
participate in the fun. The mud run will take place
on Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. at Fair Lawn Memorial Pool

Golf Outing on Sept. 27 at Ridgewood Country

SPREAD AWARENESS
• Alzheimer’s New Jersey kicks off its 2018
Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s events this fall with a location
in Bergen County. One hundred percent of
the funds raised from Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s
support Garden State individuals and families
through Alzheimer’s New Jersey’s programs and
services. Walk to Fight Alzheimer's teams are made
up of families, friends and co-workers who come
together to raise awareness and funds for
Alzheimer's New Jersey programs and services, as
well as research. Corporate, company and individual
sponsorships are welcome. Registration for
each event begins at 8:30 a.m., with the walk beginning
at 10 a.m. There is no fee to register. In addition
to the walk, all events will include food, music,
prizes and activities for children. Mark your calendar:

Oct. 28 at Bergen Community College in Paramus.
