Impact Awards
Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts held its 29th annual Impact Awards at the Armature Works in Tampa, where it
presented multiple awards, including the Lifetime Artistic Achievement Impact Award to Mernet Larsen; an Innovation in Arts
and Education Impact Award to University of South Florida’s Graphicstudio; and the Patron of Culture and the Arts Impact Award
to Stanton Storer. The evening benefited TBBCA programs such as the Charlie Hounchell Art Stars Scholarships. Rod Carter of
WFLA News Channel 8 served as the master of ceremonies, while Susana Weymouth, the TBBCA executive director, oversaw the
many details of this spectacular evening that celebrated the arts and culture in the Tampa Bay area.

Paul Wilborn, the executive director of the
Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg, were glad
to lend their support to the Impact Awards.
Stanton Storer was congratulated by
Stephen Gay, the co-chair of this year’s
Impact Awards and the incoming president
of the TBBCA for being selected as this year’s
Patron of Culture and the Arts.
Dr. John Smith and his wife Dr. Juel Smith cochaired
the Impact Awards committee with
Tampa Bay Magazine publishers Margaret
Word Burnside and Aaron Fodiman.

Margaret Miller, director of Graphicstudio
and the Institute for Research in Art at the
University of South Florida, accepted the
Impact Award for Innovation in Arts and
Education on behalf of Graphicstudio.
TBBCA past president Lorna Taylor, a current
board member, thanked Carolyn Wilson of
the Wilson Company, a 2013 Impact Award
winner and the honorary chair of this year’s
Impact Awards for her support.
Joe Jimenez and his wife Angelina, a former
TV personality, are active in many cultural
organizations, such as the Mahaffey Theater
in St. Petersburg.
