GRAM
Snap-Crackle-POP was created by James Michaels
in 1998 in his Pop Expressionism style.
The James Museum of Western and Wildlife
Art in downtown St. Petersburg is featuring
a special exhibit of the art of James Michaels.
Museum namesakes Tom and Mary James
have collected nearly 100 of his works. This
show is a testament to the talent of James
Michaels, who has two distinct styles that he
refers to as Pop Expressionism and Painterly
Realism. However, on occasion, he combines
them into one work. His creative work is
expressive, thoughtful, humorous, childlike
and filled with technical expertise. The “An
American Pop Life” exhibit continues until
March 3rd at the museum at 150 Central Ave.
in St. Petersburg.
