Georgette Diaz, owner of Georgette’s Boutique,
and Tashia Diaz-Walker, manager, hosted their
annual VIP Holiday Party and benefit for Toys for Kids
at their Tampa store on South Dale Mabry Highway.
George Feaster, while representing the Largo
Lions Club at the 1967 Lions Club International
Convention, began a relationship with the Tosayamada
Lions Club that resulted in a Sister City relationship
between Largo and Kami City, Kochi Prefecture,
Japan. This 50-year relationship was awarded the
Foreign Minister’s Commendation from the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of Japan in acknowledgment of
Feaster’s contributions to the promotion of friendship
between Japan and the city of Largo.
George Skalkeas, the president of Friends of the
Island Parks in Dunedin, has announced that the
Caladesi Discovery Center construction project has
raised enough funds to build the center. Construction
is expected to begin this year with the help of the State
of Florida’s Partnerships in Parks program. George
and Diane Hood co-chaired the center’s committee.
Bruce Livingston, chair of the board of directors
of the Clearwater Free Clinic, has been named a
Community Hero by the Tampa Bay Lightning. The
award includes a $50,000 donation from the Lightning
to the Clearwater Free Clinic. 9

Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg, where
they will sell art at theater performances.
Keith and Peggy Leclerc of the International Diamond

diamonds and Rolls-Royce automobiles. There was an
extraordinary array of superior quality diamonds above
5 carats and million-dollar jewelry pieces for guests to
try on that were previously worn by celebrities.

for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Tampa Bay
