The Bank of Tampa has been privately held by its
employees, directors and clients since it began
in 1984. With offices in Hillsborough, Pinellas
and Sarasota counties, it has become one of the
largest community banks in the Tampa Bay area. It has
more than $1.6 billion in assets and has more than $750
million under care in its wealth management areas.
James Ferman Jr., chairman of the bank’s board,
has recently announced the promotion of three key
leaders at the bank to give them greater responsibility
for day-to-day bank operations that will allow them to
implement the Bank of Tampa’s ongoing and long-term
plans for the future.
Corey Neil was promoted to the Bank of Tampa’s
chief banking officer. In his new role, he will oversee
all market presidents, commercial real estate, middle
market banking, wealth management, trust services
and marketing. David Moore was promoted to the
bank’s chief operating officer. In his new role, he will be
responsible for bank strategy, finance and accounting,
information technology and bank operations. Scott Gault,
Pinellas County market president, will continue in his
current role while assuming enterprise responsibilities
for the bank’s small business administration and
treasury services functions.
“The promotion of these three executives continues
the bank’s effort to develop talent from within and to
ensure that leadership is in place for years to come,”
said Bill West, who remains CEO of the Bank of Tampa.
“We have been developing Corey, David and Scott for
the past four years to take on additional responsibilities.
All three are proven leaders who know our markets,
understand the unique culture of the Bank of Tampa
and appreciate our bank’s focus on our clients and
employees.”
Neil, who joined the Bank of Tampa in 2003, has
more than 20 years of experience in banking, and
most recently served as Hillsborough County market
president. Moore, who joined the Bank of Tampa in
2013, has more than 20 years of experience in banking,
and most recently served as chief corporate banking
