Author Aaron R. Fodiman,
publisher/editor of Tampa
Bay Magazine since 1986,
PEPITO Aaron R. Fodiman
has been writing his Publisher
Postulates column for each
issue of the publication starting in
March 1989. His book, Life Is Not an
Illusion, It Just Looks That Way, begins
with his first column and ends with
one from January/February 1998,
“God, an Autobiography.” His
second book, Happy Thoughts for a
Happy Life, picks up in March/April
1998 and ends with September/
October 2010. I’m Not Myself Today
covers columns from late 2010
through early 2019.
Over the years, Aaron has aged
and has shown other signs of wear
and tear, but he has never matured.
It is his belief that life is like a bank account in that you only get
out of it what you have put into it. Whether you agree with what
he has to say, or think it is simply foolishness, you may chuckle, or
even laugh, as you stop to think about who you are what you are
and why you are the way you are.
Other books you have read may offer words of advice or suggest
ways in which to enhance your life. However, this series of essays
presents the thoughts of Aaron in search of himself with the hope
that if he does find himself, he will like what he finds. At times, he
denies his own existence and proceeds to become a character more
in keeping with a perception of what he would like to be. Possibly
you have heard that “There are no answers, only questions,” or
that “The only rule is that there are no rules.” In keeping with
those words of wisdom, don’t expect that reading this book will
change your life. However, it will make Aaron very happy if you
are willing to spend $19.95 to find
out what he was thinking. Actually,
he does not care why you bought the
book –– he just wants the money.
