“The Cultural Connections of Edward S. Curtis,” a collection of
photographs taken by Curtis at the beginning of the 20th century to
document the “vanishing” Native American cultures, will be at the
James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art in St. Petersburg until
Sunday, July 21st. The more than 70 pieces on loan from the Robb
and Susan Hough collection allow you to step back in time to see
tribal traditions through expressive portraits and scenes of daily life.

“Theo Wujcik: Cantos”
The Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg has organized an
exhibition of paintings by the late University of South Florida professor
Theo Wujcik that were inspired by Dante’s Inferno. Wujcik’s signature
wire fence motif is reminiscent of Ybor City at the time he lived there
in the 1990s and can be seen in several of his works. The exhibit,
assembled by Katherine Pill, the museum’s curator of contemporary
art, will be on display through June 2nd at the Museum of Fine Arts,
2255 Beach Drive N.E., St. Petersburg, (727) 896-2667. 9
