MARINAS & WATERWAYS
Whether you’re sailing on a yacht, whiling away the afternoon
casting your fishing line from your cabin cruiser, looking for a
peaceful waterway to paddle your kayak or a cool, relaxing spot
for a family picnic, you’ll discover plenty of scenic waterways
throughout Middlesex to whet your whistle.
Waterfront parks line the Raritan Bay and River and the Arthur
Kill, many with marinas and boat launches. The beautiful new
Municipal Marina at Carteret Waterfront Park has 185 slips, and
Perth Amboy Harborside Marina, with easy access out to the
Raritan Bay, offers brand new concrete floating docks that can
accommodate 137 boats, with a 300’ berth available for dockage.
Take advantage of pleasant waterside walkways and easy access
for personal watercraft in one of Middlesex’s many riverfront
parks. Johnson Park runs along the northern banks of the Raritan
River, adjacent to East Jersey Old Town Village and through
Piscataway and Highland Park. The park’s diverse facilities
include a small zoo and paths that connect to the East Coast
Greenway.
Paddle up to the floating dock at New Brunswick Landing at Boyd
Park, only 11 nautical miles from Raritan Bay, for daytime docking.
A pleasant five- to seven-minute walk brings visitors to downtown
New Brunswick’s thriving commercial and historic districts via a
pedestrian overpass.
