South Amboy is a stable community with a rich
history and great community spirit. In addition to
the activities and organizations typical to many
towns, South Amboy has an active and thriving
local art gallery staffed by volunteer residents, an
outstanding Historical Society, daily activities at the
Sadie Pope Dowdell Public Library and a thriving
YMCA. South Amboy hosts one of New Jersey’s
largest Saint Patrick’s Day Parades and an annual
Independence Day Fireworks Festival.
The local government is very proactive in
maintaining infrastructure and works constantly
with both Middlesex County and the New Jersey
Department of Transportation. Continuous
improvements to local roadways help residents
and visitors enjoy easy access to Route 9, the
Garden State Parkway, the New Jersey Turnpike
and many other convenient roadways. For those
considering relocating, the city introduced an
annual budget with a 0% increase for 2019 and
property values increased 11% over last year.
If you’re looking for a great place to live with
convenient commuting options, nearby amenities
and a kid-friendly small-town vibe, pop in for a visit.
You’ll see the City of South Amboy is on the move.
