The artist’s image of comedian
Robin Williams, who perished
prematurely, was created on
brown paper with pastels.
Even while serving three years in
the Israeli Army after being drafted
at 18, Adi continued to sketch on the
side, drawing as his group moved from
place to place, or when he was in a tent
at night, using a flashlight to see his
work. After completing his military
service, he worked at a TV station in Tel
Aviv to create stage sets. He also used
his designing talents for technological
products.
Adi eventually left Israel to travel the
world, heading first to the United States
and then to Japan, Thailand and China.
In India, he made silver jewelry and
learned screen painting. He concluded
his tour by studying masterworks
in Italy and the Netherlands. His
explorations taught him “how to learn.”

This pastel of the late singer Whitney Houston
is a fine example of the artist’s style.
