Dining at the Dalí
To celebrate the opening of three new exhibitions at the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Chef Chuck Bandel of the
museum’s Café Gala created a four-course dinner for museum supporters and His Excellency Santiago Cabanas, the ambassador
of Spain to the United States, who is a trustee of the museum. The new exhibits are “Before Dali – Goya: Visions and Inventions,”
“Visual Magic: Dali’s Masterworks in Augmented Reality,” and “Bronzes from the Vault.” All are on display through November 3rd
at the museum.
Karen Lang Johnston, chair of the Salvador
Dalí Museum’s board of trustees, introduced
Spanish Ambassador Santiago Cabanas
to the dinner guests.
Former U.S. Ambassador to Italy, Australia
and Nauru, Mel Sembler, and his wife
Betty welcomed Spain’s ambassador to the
United States back to the Dalí for this dinner.
Kamal and Najla Majeed enjoyed dining
in the gallery space named in their honor,
where a new show of Dalí masterworks
is on display.
