CharityWorks’ Monopoly Night
The 19th annual Monopoly Night fundraiser benefited CharityWorks, a nonprofit organization that helps those who help
others and has been providing purchasing advisory services to benefit charitable and educational nonprofit organizations
since 1996. The evening at the Belleair Country Club featured a buffet dinner, auctions, a fast-paced tournament to win prizes
by playing the popular Monopoly board game, and a “jail” provided by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and manned by
Sgt. Spencer Gross, where “guests” were served chocolates and champagne. Attorney Lou Kwall served as judge, while Ward
Johansen was head banker and John Wilson served as master of ceremonies.
Toni Blackshear, who again served as
co-chair, and her husband Dr. Bill Blackshear
were the event’s co-presenting sponsors
through their Prescription Weight
Loss Clinic.
Teresa and The Honorable Frank Hibbard,
the former mayor of Clearwater, were the
honorary co-chairs for this year’s evening
fundraiser of fun and games.
Jeanie Renfrow and her husband Chris,
CharityWorks’ president and CEO,
appreciated the support they received
from their dedicated volunteers
and sponsors.
Aaron Fodiman, publisher/editor of Tampa Bay
Magazine, served as auctioneer with the help
of the evening’s celebrity host, television
personality John Wilson.
Ed Mitchell was proud that his wife Suzan
Decker Ross’ business, Decker Ross Interiors,
was a presenting sponsor for this fundraiser,
which she again co-chaired.
Jeff Thomas and Jane Strong, owner of
the Happy Feet Plus Stores, enjoyed the
friendly competition between tables of
four during the timed Monopoly game.
