gambit of forbidden practices (most of which are
pretty creepy). Jesus even takes it further in Mat-

He is not just interested in what we do, but in our
thoughts and our heart’s desires. By the way, Jesus
showed His desire to forgive and restore by
forgiving a woman caught in the act of adultery.

The Bible is just full of rules for living. The Bible
is also full of verses that talk about how much God
loves us and desires to give us a better life. I think
except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have
come that they may have life, and that they may
have it more abundantly” (NKJV). You see, God
didn’t set down a lot of rules in His Word in order
to destroy our fun, or because He doesn’t want us

much, and He desires for you, more than you can
ever know, to have the best possible life. The deal
is that He knows so much better than we do what
we need to be joyful, and to live our best life. Our
job is just to seek Him, and He will make it happen
for us.

time to now? Well, some of those changes
are because in many ways our society has moved
away from God’s Word. Others are just because
our generation has a different viewpoint than previous
generations. There is really only one way
to tell which is which, and that is to read the Bible
for yourself, and ask God to help you sort it
out. He promised that He would direct your paths
