MISSION On a M I S S I O N S
It says in John 15:15-17
“I no longer call you servants,
because a servant does not
know his master’s business.
Instead, I have called you
friends, for everything that I
have learned from my Father, I
have made known to you. You
did not choose me, but I chose
you and appointed you so that
you might go and bear fruit—
fruit that will last—and so that
whatever you ask in my name
the Father will give you. This is
my command: Love each other.”

Love! That is all He says we
must do. Love means so many
different things to so many
different people, and I have always
had a heart to serve and
help others. I have tried to do
this globally and locally and
provide to all different mission
be Kenya. I always pray for God to
show me where He wants me, but
Africa was always the top of my list.
I received a call one morning from
a group called “Love Africa,” and
she wanted me to join their mission
application months before, and I
had completely forgotten about it.
I had tried several times before to
go to Africa, but it never worked
out. I fell to my knees, “God I’m
so sorry for trying to control when
I wanted to go. I know you do all
things in your timing and for your
good.” I would be leaving my husband
for two weeks, and it would
be during my birthday. I felt God
in my heart, “Listen to me child
and go bear fruit among the nations,
and I will take care of the
rest.”
When I landed in Nairobi, Africa,
my life was changed forever. Our
bus driver was wearing a t-shirt
which had the wording “Some
you go to church?” just assuming
he was going to tell me someone
donated it to him, and that is all he
had, but he began to tell me it was
his church and he is a saved Christian.
I mean everybody says how
bad Africa is but his response was,
“Oh yeah! I am a saved Christian,
and I believe Jesus Christ.” My next
question was, “How many people
here (Kenya) believe in Jesus?” His
Him and are saved.” Right then
it was like God whispered to me
and said, “Now go do my work!”
Rift Valley Hope, the organization
I was working with, focuses
on getting kids off the streets.
a child who has no family, lives
on the streets, eats out of trash
cans, and is sleeps on the dirt,
or wherever there is a spot. This
town is located in a very busy
city with truck stops leading to
poverty-stricken women with
night jobs as their only option...
These women become pregnant
and are unable to care
for the children. That is when
RVH (Rift Valley Hope) steps
in. From day one, I said to God,
“I’m not sure what Your plan is
but I am here for You, and I’m
here to grow for you.” That is all He
needed to hear from me.
God knew his plan because shortly
after that, a young man named Joseph
shared a story with me. Joseph
was a street boy who lived off stealing
phone parts and selling them.
He did not get a meal every day,
but when he did, it was because he
went dumpster diving in the trash
and now works with a counselor
with them. Glory be to God!
God has a plan for everything, and
His timing is perfect. Right after
Joseph came out about his faith
and out of his comfort zone, once
again, little did I know, I would be
pulled out of my own as well. Our
leader worked with us and said,
