STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
A B
Before starting your fussy cut block, establish what
section of fabric you would like to use as a repeat. You
will need a lot of blocks that include that section, so
consider the print size as well. Use a rotary cutter and
ruler to cut out a triangle section.
Hoop a piece of No Show mesh and run the first
machine step, which is the squaring stitch.
The next machine step is the tacking stitch, which will
hold the batting in place.
For this project, we used the A-size block, so we cut an
equilateral triangle that has 5” on all sides.
NOTE: It’s important to give yourself at least .5”
seam allowance on all sides.
Next, take a piece of batting and place it on top of
the squaring stitch. Make sure the batting covers the
squaring stitch completely.
Trim away the excess batting up to the tacking stitch.
