ADDING HANDKERCHIEF SIDES TO A SWEATSHIRT
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
A B
Flip up the embroidered front flap and pull the right arm
inside out through to the inside of the shirt.
Begin by gathering your shirt and laying it flat with right sides
facing out.
C D
Now, pull that same arm through the left arm while aligning
the raw edges of the side seams.
Still with the raw edges together, align the edges of the back
flap together as well as the edges of the front flap.
E F
Use a piece of tracing paper to create a template for your
side panel fabric. First, slide it under the shirt as seen above.
NOTE : Keep in mind that the size of your shirt may alter
these dimensions and you should adjust accordingly. For
reference, we used a Womens medium.
Using the dimensions drawn out in step E, draw two lines
using a ruler and tailors chalk to create a cross. The longer
line is 23” and the shorter line is 10 1⁄4”.
