CHRISTMAS COUTURE SAVVY SOURCING
When we planned out our little sweater, we gathered
materials that emanate the vibes from a typical Ugly
Christmas Sweater party. While some may prefer a more
tacky, quirky, or cute Christmas Sweater, we wanted to
find a balance between them. Since we started with a red
sweatshirt, we chose mildly busy, but coordinating red and
green appliqué fabrics. After that, we gathered all of our silly
holiday buttons, ribbon, and thick white rick rack in order to
end up with a perfectly festive little pet sweater.
Do you love this idea, but only have larger animals? Utilize the same techniques used in this
tutorial to embroider and construct a similar Christmas sweater for a large pet! You can even
make the small pet sweater first, for practice, then use the left-over sweatshirt bodice to
embroider and construct a Christmas sweater in a similar manner!

LARGER PETS
For this project, we used a Women’s large crew neck
sweatshirt that we bought from Amazon.com. If your animal
is smaller than 6 lbs, then you will want to use a smaller
sized sweatshirt. If your little pet is larger than 6lbs, you may
want to consider sizing up. Since we are constructing the
dog sweater from one of the sweatshirt’s sleeves, you can
actually make TWO pet sweaters from just ONE sweatshirt!
This way, your little doggy will be festively fashionable for
any event this holiday season.
