OCTOBER 2020
PROJECT 137
Make your designs look good enough to eat!
We created these designs to look just like icing-decorated
holiday cookies! Whether you can bake or not, you'll be on
your way to making these adorable cookies in no time with
the handy step-by-step guide included in this tutorial.
In order to create the most realistic cookie look, the recipe
really starts with your base fabric choice! By using a felt
fabric for the front and back of your cookie design, you'll
get the wonderful look of a cookie base. Depending on
the color you choose, you can even make your designs
mimic gingerbread cookies using brown felt, or swapping
to a cream or tan toned felt to look like sugar cookies. Our
Creative Team members loved both, so we decided to
alternate cookie colors throughout the collection for a plate
of variety.
As for the appliqué fabrics, your choices can vary depending
the cookie shape you are creating, but we recommend a
selection of bold, solid color fabrics to look like the icing on
a cookie! If you are creating gingerbread characters, we also
suggest a cohesive brown cotton to lay as their appliqué.
