The art studio is draped in supplies for multi medium creativity. From sponges to clay carving tools,
intricate clay creations require tools on hand.
To start the year 2021, the art studio will
be offering an “Intro to Hand Building
class,” where students can learn the basics
of pottery techniques each Wednesday
from January 6 to February 10, 2 to 5 p.m.
From January 6 to 27 there will be a “Fiber
Clay Sculpture” class in the garden each
Wednesday from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Additionally, a “Ceramic Glazing
Workshop” will be held on Saturday, Jan.
16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Then, starting
in February, pottery wheel classes will be
offered. Just a few slots remain open.
In December The Open Studio hosted a
class for stress management in
the garden called
“Reclaiming
Calm in the
Storm.” This was
introduced as a
way for people
to experience
a form of art
therapy in a time
of uncertainty.
Along with the art
studio, The Open
Studio will continue to offer diverse activities
for all interests. The “One Stop Co-Op”
will continue to provide organic products
through various market vendors, Thursdays
and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on
Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hours are
subject to change.
The Open Studio
businesses share
a garden space,
which gives teachers
the option to hold
classes outside,
and has saved the
venue from closing.
The garden is
home to produce
and greenery, and
to classes where
creativity knows no
boundaries.
