American Presidents & Politics:
The Presidents Adams, by Nancy Isenberg
Wednesday, Jan. 6, 5 p.m.
Livestream event
Until now, no historical investigator has dissected the
intertwined lives of the second and sixth U.S. presidents,
father and son, John and John Quincy Adams. Beyond
the intimate, inherently fascinating story of their
accomplished, if oft-disparaged careers, “The Problem
of Democracy” tells how the two statesmen scoured the
globe for political intelligence, represented their country
in foreign courts, and took extraordinary risks wherever
they traveled. Isenberg and Andrew Burstein came
together to write The Problem of Democracy and continue
to write history-accented pieces about modern political
and cultural affairs for a variety of national news outlets.
General admission livestream tickets are $35
each. Call (941) 964-0827 to purchase tickets or see

Politics – An Honorable Calling
Connie Mack, Former Republican U.S. Senator
Wednesday, Jan. 27, 4:30 p.m.
Livestream event
Connie Mack III has had many titles throughout his
life and career. A former U.S. Senator, a crusader against
cancer and a dedicated father, but his title of choice
remains: He is, simply, a citizen.
His life in politics began as a member of the House of
Representatives from Florida through the 1980s and he
was elected to the U.S. Senate through the duration of
the 1990s. When Mack left the Senate, he returned to the
private sector and started a new career – serving on two
bio-tech fi rm boards (Genzyme Corp. and Exact Sciences
Corp.), along with M2Gen, a health informatics solutions
company; and, he became chairman of the H.L. Moffi tt
Cancer Center & Research Institute. Threaded with candid
stories, Mack’s memoir offers an inside look into the
political culture and climate of the nation as it closed out
the twentieth century and progressed into the twenty-fi rst.
General admission livestream tickets are $35
each. Call (941) 964-0827 to purchase tickets or see
