The Sarasota Polo Club is one of many
outdoor venues to offer a well-rounded
experience for all patrons. The experience
of watching a game of polo is unparalleled
to watching any other sport.
Ron Trytek, director of sales and marketing
for the Sarasota Polo Club, is passionate
about the sport and the atmosphere of the
club. Coming from an equestrian family, Ron
has a signifi cant connection to the sport. He
projects their season in the new year will be
fulfi lling, despite operating in unexpected
circumstances.
“In Lakewood Ranch, this was originally
the only venue here before the town actually
developed around it,” said Ron. “Polo is a
big community sport for all ages to attend.”
An estimated 45,000 polo spectators will
be on hand during the 2021 Sarasota Polo
Season, which began in December and runs
through Sunday April 25, 2021. This season
has also brought a new set of rules to keep
the athletes, visitors and staff members safe.
These new protocols include an advanced
ticket reservation process and the practice
of safety guidelines.
“Even if you don’t know much about the
sport, it’s captivating just to watch,” said Ron.
“Polo is an experience that delivers.”
The club also involves a variety of
tailgating events with charming themes
throughout a typical season. These themes
get the whole family and even the horses
involved, even when the horses are dressed
up as superheroes.
The 2021 schedule began with opening
day on December 13. With the new year,
Sunday Polo continues on January 3. Each
Sunday following, the public matches will
be held at 1 p.m., with gates open at 10 a.m.
The last Sunday Polo takes place on April 25.
The club also looks forward to holding
a six-week Sunset Polo and Ranch Nites
Community Concert series for the after-work
crowd to come by and enjoy a cold drink.
