BE A BEACH BUM
Pensacola Beach
PERFECT BEACH DAYS
RELAX AND SOAK IN THE FUN
Standing on the edge of the shore, feeling the
white, crystalline sand between your toes and
listening to the crash of saltwater washing in from
the Gulf of Mexico —it’s something you just have to
experience in Pensacola.
Pensacola Beach is located on Santa Rosa Island,
but leave your cares on the mainland. Once you pass
the iconic Pensacola Beach sign, you have entered
a haven for fun and relaxation. Boating, fi shing and
watersports businesses dot the roadside leading to
Casino Beach, the largest public beach area on the
island, and the Pensacola Beach Pier. How will you
spend your day in paradise? For camping and a bit
of history, explore Fort Pickens, part of Gulf Islands
National Seashore. Tour the remains of the Civil War
fort or just enjoy the scenery. On Tuesdays, spring
through fall, bring a chair or blanket to sit under the
stars and hear live music at Bands on the Beach from
the Gulfside Pavilion.
Perdido Key welcomes you with its quiet, laidback
vibe and unspoiled beauty. Clear your mind of the daily
grind with a peaceful stroll along Johnson Beach, part
of Gulf Islands National Seashore. This protected area
provides a secluded escape for fi shing or snorkeling.
You might see nesting sea turtles or any of the
hundreds of bird species that inhabit the barrier island.
When your beach day is done, mingle with the locals at
some of the area’s favorite shops, restaurants and bars.
You will feel at home in this small, friendly city.
With more than 60 miles of coastline to explore, you
can collect seashells at sunrise, splash and play in the
surf all day, or take a romantic walk at sunset.
