GET OUTSIDE
TO EXPLORE AND PLAY
While lounging on the shore to soak
in the sun and surf is one way to enjoy
Pensacola, active visitors will find infinite
ways to have fun outdoors.
At Pensacola Beach, the sky is the
limit, literally, for fearless guests who
enjoy parasailing. Take surfing lessons, or
try paddleboarding and kayaking in the
Santa Rosa Sound. Let the kids run and
play on any of three nautical-themed
playgrounds that dot the island.
Many of the area’s charter and leisure
cruise boats dock at Pensacola Beach
Marina. Deep-sea fishing excursions
are offered for half a day, a full day or
longer. Book in advance, pack a cooler of
food and water and let the charter boat
captain and crew take care of the rest. You will be all set to catch the likes
of grouper, snapper and cobia while fishing the Gulf of Mexico. For a more
relaxing ride, enjoy a dolphin cruise or a romantic sailboat outing.
At Big Lagoon State Park, bird watching, fishing, swimming and
crabbing are popular. Golfers will love playing in the coastal breezes at
Lost Key and Perdido Bay Golf Club.
