level had gone from a start-up, first season to
winning a national championship in four years.
What’s more, Pensacola has an array of
running, cycling, boating, sailing, tennis, golf,
target shooting, plus youth sports events in
a calendar year to set it apart among visitor
destinations. Let’s start with some of our
biggest attractions.
This year, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos will
begin their ninth season as one of only 30
Double-A level teams in America affiliated
with Major League Baseball. The Wahoos
annually host 70 home games a season at the
5,003-seat Blue Wahoos Stadium, located with
Pensacola Bay as the backdrop. In May 2020,
the Blue Wahoos launched the nation’s first
Airbnb experience at a sports venue in the
U.S., providing exclusive access to the field, the
indoor batting facility and both the visiting and
home team clubhouses.
