Pensacola’s ImpARTial Culture
Singing and dancing not your thing? Peruse
20th and 21st century contemporary paintings
and sculpture at the Pensacola Museum of Art,
Pensacola’s only art museum, as you wander the
rooms of the Old City Jail built in 1906. Interact,
imagine and play at the Pensacola Children’s
Museum with a mix of multicultural history and
engaging activities to keep the kids entertained.
Dive deeper into the history and culture of
Historic Pensacola Village’s rich heritage,
bringing America’s first settlement to life!
While strolling through Pensacola’s Historic
District, take in the 64-square-foot CUBED
mural installations dispersed around town,
depending upon the season, with the core of
cubes located in museum plaza. The cubes
are ever-changing, created seasonally by local
artists, and have displayed everything from
beautiful beach scenes to abstract avant-garde
subjects to historic local depictions to tributes
to our beloved Blue Angels. If you prefer the
magic of the live flight demonstrations by the
U.S. Navy Blue Angels, we hold two annual air
shows a year — Pensacola Beach Air Show and
Homecoming Air Show.
Become the Artist
Pensacola’s local celebration of graffiti has been a
beloved landmark for decades: Graffiti Bridge. Since
legalizing the art of graffiti on the train trestle, locals
and tourists alike daily enjoy covering every square inch
of the bridge in vivid colors and designs, promoting
various logos, messages and tributes.
Create art first-hand at First City Art Center and
enjoy their signature events like the annual Pumpkin
Patch, featuring one-of-a-kind handmade glass and
ceramic pumpkins. Take to the skate at Waterboyz, a
surf, skate and beach gear mecca with a 5,000-squarefoot
skate park and restaurant.

Celebrate Together
Experience more than 200 of the nation’s best
artists — painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic
artists, musicians and more — each November during
Pensacola’s annual, three-day juried art show, the Great
Gulfcoast Arts Festival.
But no two weeks are as vibrant as Foo Foo Fest, a
celebration of local art forms dominating the beginning
of November. From giant outdoor displays of art (such
as the recent Fire and Rain exhibit or the Umbrella
Sky project) to collaboration among the Big Five art
organizations, Foo Foo Fest is the biggest bang for
your artistic buck each year.
