Jenkinson’s Boardwalk is conveniently
accessible by car, train or bus. It’s just minutes
off the Garden State Parkway and Route 195,
one hour south of New York City, one hour
north of Atlantic City and about an hour and 15
minutes from Philadelphia. Point Pleasant Beach
is also one of the few Ocean County Tourism
destinations that can be reached directly by
NJTRANSIT via the Point Pleasant Beach Station
of the North Jersey Coast Line. This makes it a
fun destination to visit for the day with friends,
completely accessible to those who live north
along the shore and into New York City. The
Point Pleasant beaches, open from 9 am to
5 pm during the summer months, allow both
guarded swimming and surfing with beach tags.
Dining in Point Pleasant
Need a break from the games and summer
heat? Martell’s Tiki Bar, located on the 300
block of the boardwalk, serves all of the thirstquenching
tropical drinks you crave along
with an amazing view that makes Martell’s the
place to be in the summer. You’re just steps
away from the beach with a view of the band
stage that hosts many of the Jersey Shore’s
hottest musical acts. Right next door, Martell’s
Sea Breeze Restaurant offers oceanfront
dining with beautiful views of the Atlantic. The
carefully selected seasonal menu ranges from
classic salads, burgers and wraps for lunch
to fine steaks and exotic fruits of the sea for
dinner. Everything tastes better when you are
overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The view is free.
It’s hard to escape the fun of the boardwalk
food, fun and festivities, but Point Pleasant
boasts a wide range of restaurants with stellar
views that will make it worth taking a break from
the games and rides to grab a seat for a relaxing
dining experience. Find everything from five-star
Continental cuisine, seafood favorites and sushi
to hopping bar scenes and even restaurants that
will prepare and serve your own catch.
