umbrella. Lifeguards are on duty between Memorial Day
weekend and mid-September. The beach is perfect for
beachcombers searching for shells, sea glass, driftwood
and other natural treasures. No wonder Seaside Heights
has been voted Ocean County’s Favorite Beach by New
Jersey Sea Grant Consortium every year since 2016!
If you prefer a less bustling place to stake your beach
umbrella, the mood at Sunset Beach located at the
North Bayfront is for you. Sunset Beach offers a shallow
swimming beach for young children, food concession,

public restrooms, a playground and free parking! You
can watch passing recreational boats and a variety of
birds. Crabbing, kayaking and fishing are popular on
both the North and South Bayfronts.
Seaside Heights hosts many family-friendly events
throughout the summer—the weekly Fireworks
Extravaganza, free beach concerts, Movie on the Beach
nights, Bonfire on the Beach and overnight beach
camping, to name just some of the exciting events.
Seaside Heights also hosts parades, street festivals, car
shows, motorcycle rallies and many different sporting
events. In the fall, Seaside Heights presents the annual
Wine on the Beach Festival, and Seaside Heights
Country Music & BBQ Festival, and hosts the Ocean
County Italian Street Festival & Columbus Day Parade.
