Large multipurpose areas are clearly the trend in
home building today, and nowhere more than in
the kitchen. Originally, kitchens were a functional,
compact space, used solely for food preparation.
However, just as cell phones were originally only
used for phone calls, kitchens are now gathering
places that have been integrated into adjoining
rooms, such as dining areas and family rooms.
