The Longest Table
WUSF Public Media’s second annual The Longest Table fundraiser more than doubled in size from its first dinner a year
ago. The event took place on Bayshore Drive N.E. behind the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, overlooking the
downtown yacht basin and the Pier. White clothed tables set with china and crystal lined the street, which is bordered by
the panoramic views of Tampa Bay on one side and Straub Park on the other. The participating restaurants, such as 400
Beach Seafood and Tap House and Parkshore Grill, provided their own wine-paired, multi-course menu selections to those
who chose to sit in their section of the table. The weather was perfect, and this event is sure to expand each year.
David Smith, a Tampa attorney, and his wife
Joanne Urofsky, general manager of WUSF Public
Media, were excited that the fundraiser had more
than doubled in size.
Harry and Joan McCreary organized a group of
their neighbors at Ovation on nearby Beach
Drive to walk to and sit together at the WUSF
public radio station’s dinner.
Linda Saul-Sena, a former Tampa City Council
member, and her husband Mark Sena, the chair
of the WUSF board of directors, thanked the
attendees for their support.
Dr. Kent Lydecker, the director of the Museum of
Fine Arts, and his wife, cookbook author Toni
Lydecker, invited The Longest Table guests to an
after party at the MFA.
Holly Tomlin brought her daughter, realtor Ali
Tomlin, with whom she is planning to work now
that she has sold her business.
Merrilee and Jeff Gerew enjoyed this alfresco
wine-paired dinner on Bayshore Drive, which
will help fund WUSF Public Media’s programs.
