Jack Ellis won Best of Show
at the Mainsail Art Festival in
St. Petersburg and the Best of Show
shortly afterward at the Gasparilla
Art Show in Tampa, so we featured
his ink drawings in this issue.
He called them “icons,” as they
swept you into his world, revealing
his talent for creating these detailed
works of art. Jack was recently
part of the Morean Arts Center’s
“100 Years/100 Artists” exhibition
in St. Petersburg.
It is easy to tell that the subject
of this work by Jack Ellis
abhorred insects.

great Chefs
We interviewed the Great Chefs of Tampa Bay, such as Chef Doug Bebell of Mystic
Fish Seafood and Grill in Palm Harbor, Chef Walt Wickman of Walt’s Seasonal Cuisine
in Dunedin and Chef Tyson Grant of Parkshore Grill in St. Petersburg. They talked
about what they eat at home and where they gained their skills. They are still producing
amazing meals at their restaurants.
This cover was a portion
of Christopher M. Still’s
painting Return to Picnic
Island that hangs in the
lobby of the Sandpearl
Resort in Clearwater Beach.
