Stitch a Centerpiece
Step-by-Step Instructions
A B
To create your Heirloom Centerpiece, first stitch and gather
4 of your chosen block design.
C D
Now take the left top and bottom blocks, lay them face to
face, and pin the front sides together.
NOTE: Be sure to not catch the back fabric in this seam
(see circle for correct pin placement).
E F
Once joined together, steam press the seam open.
Lay the 4 blocks face down and diagonally fold back the
unstitched flap of the back pieces to expose the seams that
will be stitched together.
Stitch slightly inside the tacking stitch using a straight stitch
and your walking foot, removing the pins as you sew.
Repeat steps C-E for the right side’s top and bottom blocks,
being sure not to sew the back fabric into the seams (see
inset). Once both rows are sewn together, join the two
halves in the same manner, pinning them face to face.
