Looking for a creative way to use
those spare quilt blocks? Search
no further with our pin cushion
project! These two shaped
pin cushions are created from
existing Anita Goodesign quilt
collections. Great as a last minute
gift, or a way to organize your
supplies, these pin cushions are
as functional as they are pretty.
We have created two styles
of pin cushions using existing
quilt block collections. First, we
stitched two square folded fabric
quilt blocks from our Quilting
1, 2, 3 Premium Collection
(released in April 2016). We
chose file Q123-rose1D-A and
Q123-rose1D-B. These combine
to make one block in the D size
which is 5” x 5,” in order to have
a small but sturdy pin cushion
when finished. We used cotton
fabrics from a coordinating fat
quarter bundle, but this is also
an innovative way to use fabric
scraps you may have on hand.
The second style is a triangular
shaped pin cushion, which is
created from a rectangular quilt
block. We selected one block in
the Petal7 design from our Mix
& Match Quilting: Patchwork
Petal Quilt collection (released
in the May 2017 All Access) and
stitched it in the A size, which is
10.4” x 6.3” - but you can use any
size rectangle quilt block.
The designs shown on this page are from previous releases and are not included in the December 2018’s All Access issue.
