The first step is to hoop a piece of no-show mesh and
run the squaring stitch.
The next machine step is the tacking stitch which will
hold the batting in place. Use scissors to trim away the
excess batting up to the tacking stitch.
Take the first fabric and place it face up on top of the
placement stitch. Be sure to leave at least 1/2” seam
allowance outside of the batting.
Place a piece of batting on top of the squaring stitch.
Make sure that the batting covers all four sides.
Run the placement stitch for appliqué 1.
Run the tacking stitch to hold appliqué 1 in place, then
trim away the excess fabric up to the tacking stitch.
Remember not to trim away your seam allowance.
