My Clearwater
A Legacy of Excellence The Commission for Florida Law Enforcement
Accreditation recently presented the Clearwater
Police Department with its seventh reaccreditation.
City Manager Bill Horne and Deputy Police Chief
Eric Gandy attended the June 26 presentation in Orlando.
They were accompanied by members of the department's
accreditation team -- accreditation manager Sgt. Todd
Turpack, Lt. Todd Johnson and Sgt. Gary Martinez.
The agency is accredited through the commission as a means
to ensure compliance with the highest standards of the law
enforcement profession. The police department first attained
its accreditation status in 1998.
The reaccreditation process takes place every three years, and
the police department has maintained its accreditation status
through the reaccreditation process, reaching
Excelsior status in 2013.
