You don’t need a starship to go to the edge of space if you
visit Disney’s new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood
Studios near Orlando. Inspired by George Lucas’ creation,
this new themed land puts visitors into a world where
they can pilot the iconic Millenium Falcon, interact with
members of the Resistance, or just roam the Black Spire Outpost on
the planet of Batuu.
This 14-acre site has spires that tower 130 feet into the sky and
alien structures to create its epic environment. The village of Black
Spire Outpost seems to have been built originally by an ancient
civilization. It is now being invaded by the dreaded First Order that
appeared in The Force Awakens, thus putting the small band of the
Resistance there on its toes. So don’t be surprised if the freedom
fighters try to recruit you to their cause.
