Downtown Clearwater
Blast Friday is celebrating its 10-year anniversary
with a ton of music and fun in Downtown
Clearwater. The annual free concert series, which is
presented by Ruth Eckerd Hall, will feature several
standout acts that will bring you dancing to Downtown
Clearwater.
BSTREETBAND, Jan. 31
The BSTREETBAND, a Bruce Springsteen tribute band,
will perform Jan. 31. The BSTREETBAND is considered
the hardest working tribute band on the circuit with more
than 175 shows per year throughout the country.
JOHN WAITE, Feb. 28
Singer and songwriter John Waite is known for the rock
ballad “Missing You,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard in
1984. The song topped the international charts and today
remains a radio staple around the globe.
PABLO CRUISE, Mar. 27
The pop-and-rock band Pablo Cruise will perform Mar. 27.
The San Francisco band has released a number of studio
albums and has the hit songs “Watcha Gonna Do,” “Love
Will Find a Way” and “Cool Love.”
10,000 MANIACS, Apr. 24
The 10,000 Maniacs will perform Apr. 24. The band has
covered plenty of ground in its 35-plus years, and today
it holds the distinction of being a cornerstone alternative
band. The lineup is anchored by four of the six original
members.
HOME COOKING, May 29
The final show of the 2020 season is called Home Cooking,
and it’s a tribute to local music. The Greg Billings Band
and The Black Honkeys will perform with a soulful and
authentic style that can’t be duplicated.
All shows are from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Food trucks and
vendors will be serving a wide variety of freshly prepared
specialty food and beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages
that will be available for purchase. Plus, the Downtown
Clearwater restaurants will be open.
The shows are free, and guests are allowed to bring lawn
chairs to watch the concerts. There is a VIP and SUPER
VIP package that can be purchased through Ruth Eckerd
Hall by calling 791-7400.
