Paying for Parking Gets Easier
The city now offers pay-by-plate parking to patrons who
come to Clearwater Beach and downtown. All you have to do
is pick a parking spot (and don’t back in). When you get out
of your car, head to the parking kiosk. Remember your license
plate number or take a photo of it with your smartphone. Key
in your plate number at the kiosk, pay and go.
Pay by plate parking is now available (or soon will be) at
the Garden Avenue Parking Garage (28 N. Garden Ave.),
Seminole Boat Ramp (198 Seminole St.), Station Square
Parking Garage (628 Cleveland St.), Clearwater Beach and
in Downtown Clearwater. Patrons can continue paying for
parking with the ParkMobile app. Visit myclearwater.com/
parking for details.
Simplify to 5
Make sure that you are recycling right. Simplify to five,
and get back to the basics. Recycle only plastic bottles and
containers No. 1 to 7, metal cans, glass bottles and jars,
cardboard boxes and mixed paper. Everything else goes in
your trash can. Learn more at myclearwater.com/recycling.
Keep Clearwater Bright & Beautiful
Keep your property neat and clean. Cleaning a driveway,
yard, patio or street gutters of dead leaves can make
an enormous impact on how a neighborhood looks to
others. When manicuring your lawn, be sure to properly
dispose of grass clippings, leaves and other vegetative
debris.
Because water runs off of yards, it is important to reduce
the amount of pollutants on properties. Trash, debris and
pollutants in yards – such as fertilizers, pesticides and
herbicides – can wash into the stormwater system, polluting
the environment and causing blockages in storm pipes.

Recycle Unwanted Electronics
Don’t know what to do with your old TV? Bring it to the
city of Clearwater’s Monthly Electronics Dropoff Day.
Residents can bring electronics to the dropoff facility on the
last Wednesday of every month from 7 a.m. to
3 p.m. at 1701 N. Hercules Ave. Clearwater residents with
proof of residency (a utility bill) may dispose of unwanted
electronics for free. Hazardous electronics accepted include
TVs, monitors, laptops, power supplies, CPUs, cell phones
and other devices with rechargeable batteries. For more
information, call 562-4920.

Volunteers Needed for 2020
Point-in-Time Count
The Pinellas County Homeless Leadership Board and
its partners, which include the city of Clearwater, need
volunteers to participate in the Homeless Point-in-Time
Count and Survey set for Jan. 23. The count helps local
agencies track the extent of homelessness in the community
and helps determine programs that are needed to assist the
local homeless population. To volunteer, call 562-4047 or
email gabe.parra@myclearwater.com.
Neighborhoods Day
Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 28, for Clearwater
Celebrates Neighborhoods Day. Each year, councilmembers,
the Senior Executive Team and city staff visit about 30
neighborhood block parties to meet with residents on
their turf. If you’d like to host a block party in your
neighborhood, contact
