LOCO FOR CORK COASTERS. Here at Anita, we love to
re-purpose designs and show you a new way to use and display them.
These Fiesta Coasters are the perfect combination of a simple 4x4
embroidery collection, such as the Fiesta Word Clouds, and pattern
editing features that are included in several embroidery machines. We
used a Brother Dream Machine and a Babylock Solaris to stitch our
coasters. To determine whether your machine can be used, check your
owner’s manual.
SIMPLE CONSTRUCTION. These coasters are perfect for any fiesta
that you’re planning. With Cinco de Mayo coming up, you can create a
set for a party or make several for festive party favors! To construct our
coasters, we are using a pattern editing function in our machine that
can take a standard embroidery design, and turn it into an appliqué.
The appliqué function will add three additional steps to the end of our
preloaded design. For our coaster project, we will use the first running
stitch step as a placement stitch for our back fabric and then use the
second running stitch step as a tacking step to secure the fabric to our
coaster. Trim away the excess fabric on the front and back, then finish
with the final satin stitch for the perfect party coaster! Follow the step
by step pictures below to see just how we did it.

To shake it up even more, you can turn any circular 4x4
design into a coaster following these same steps you will
see on the upcoming pages. Try it out with our Outdoors
or Floral Arrangements online collections as well.
